NEW LIFE CONNECT GROUPS
You don’t need to have it all together to lead a Connect Group—you just have to be willing to let God use you. To host a group, you simply choose a topic that interests you and select a time and location to meet with others to share it. Then, we give you a few essential tools like first-time leader training, and a directory where others can find your group and support throughout the semester. We believe God uses the small group setting to change people’s lives, and as a Connect Group leader, you get to be a part of that.
Connect Groups have one, simple purpose: to bring people together. We believe God created us to live in relationship with others and only then can we live the full life He intends for us. Sharing life through community is part of our design, but meaningful relationships aren’t always easy to find. That’s why Connect Groups exist—to make these life-changing relationships relevant and accessible to you.
Semester Breakdown
Spring: February – May
Summer: June – July
Fall: September – December
In an effort to keep semesters easy to remember, we follow very closely to Siloam Springs school semesters.
Hubs
Men - Women - Marriage & Family
Co-Ed - Freedom
All Connect Groups fall under 1 of 5 hubs.
Men and Women Hubs are directed specifically to each gender.
Marriage & Family groups are designed to strengthen the family bond through study.
Co-Ed groups are designed to incorporate both males and females in the curriculum/activity. This would consist of singles, married couples and families but the curriculum/activity would not be directed specifically for any of those particular groups or individuals.
During a 13-week Connect Groups semester, Freedom Groups gather weekly to discuss the Freedom Connect Group curriculum, which is designed to equip you to live the victorious and abundant life Christ came to give you. Freedom Groups build on the foundation of your faith in Christ to help you embrace the truth of God’s Word as it relates to your worldview, your past, your sin, your personal value to God, and your purpose in His Kingdom. This group will help you remove every obstacle to intimacy with God and walk in true freedom.
Categories
Discipleship - Interest - Freedom
New Life Church’s Connect Groups are divided into three categories: Discipleship, Interest, or Freedom. Although our goal is for each group to incorporate a spiritual component, some groups may be more in-depth than others.
Discipleship Groups are biblically-based studies that will encourage growth in your spiritual journey and help to prepare you in fulfilling the Great Commission as laid out in Matthew 28.
Interest-Based Groups are groups built around hobbies and interests. Previous groups have been fishing, kayaking, sewing, volleyball, and the list goes on. Whatever you enjoy doing for fun, start doing that with others, along with a short devotional, and you will begin building community!
Freedom groups are designed to help overcome the pitfalls and roadblocks of life. We encourage everyone to be involved in Freedom! Each of us struggles with circumstances that life brings our way and true freedom can only be found in Christ Jesus.
